Taking your first class can be intimidating. Don't worry, we are here to put you at ease! Below we have given some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions...

Pick and book your class online or in person. Come hydrated and bring a water bottle, if you like. You may also like a hand towel for sweat. Having your own yoga mat is recommended for hygiene purposes. We have a couple extra on hand if needed. You will want to be comfortable in the tummy, so we recommend eating meals at least 2-3 hours before class. We also observe the yoga practice of Soucha, which translates to cleanliness (body, mind, spirit, and surroundings). Since we are moving, breathing and sweating in close quarters, you'll want to arrive clean for practice.
At SUN SEA AIR we aim to make classes "all-level" and accessible to all. Unless otherwise noted in a class or event description, all levels of practitioners are welcome, from beginner to advanced, to any of our classes. Allow your instructor to guide you into modifications and/or versions of poses that respect your needs, or maybe challenge your edge.
Comfortable athletic clothing is recommended, but you don't need anything fancy. We will be moving and bending and you don't want your clothing to be restrictive or too overwhelming. Also, be prepared to remove your shoes as yoga is practiced in bare feet. Lastly, please avoid wearing heavy fragrances, lotions or perfumes as some may be sensitive.
Arrive 10 minutes before the class start time so you can get acquainted with the space and settle on your mat. Plan to stay for the entire scheduled class time. If you do need to leave early, please let the instructor know before class and exit quietly before Savasana (an important integration pose towards the end of class). Please remove your shoes in the lobby and store them with any personal items in the cubbies inside the practice space. We want you to be able to be fully present to yourself, so no cell phones please. Leave them at home or in your car. If you do choose to bring your phone in, either turn it off or silence it and leave it in the cubbies. And don't forget to turn off vibrate. If you are on call emergently for work or have a family member you are caretaking for, please let your instructor know so they can accommodate you.
Please let your instructor know of any injuries, physical conditions, or concerns you may have so they can help you feel confident and safe. Yoga can be a highly effective therapy for; chronic pain management, somatic disfunction, managing mental wellbeing, gaining physical strength, balance and mobility. Let our skilled instructors help you achieve your wellness goals. If you are under a doctor's care, please check with them before starting.
Absolutely! Yoga can be a beautiful accompaniment to your changing body, and create a more easeful labor and delivery. Please let your instructor know how far along you are, and keep them updated to any changes as you progress. Postures like; twists, inversions, laying on your tummy, and some Pranayama (breathing exercises) should be avoided at certain stages of pregnancy. Stay hydrated and take breaks when needed. Always consult your doctor to see if yoga is right for your pregnancy.
Life happens! Sometimes you need to cancel your booking. You can cancel any pre-booked class up to two hours before the class start time. If you pre-register for class and do not show up, or do not cancel before the two hour window, you forfeit that class credit. In the unfortunate event that we have to cancel a class or an event, your class credit will go back on your account, or in the case of events a refund will be issued.
SUN SEA AIR Yoga & Wellness is located in the Pegasus Plaza on 49th Street in Gulfport, Fl. Our address is: 2321 49th St S, Suite D. Right next door to Alphabet Soup. We have a small parking lot in the front of the building, and several more spaces located in the back behind the building. We have a bike rack along 24th Ave S, and there is a PSTA bus stop out front on 49th, all for your convenience. We look forward to seeing you in class!
